Step Two — Let's Meet

Whether you want to stop by our Canterbury Village studio, grab coffee somewhere convenient, or hop on a quick video call from your couch after work — we'll talk through your day. Your vision, your venue, your timeline, any questions you have. Take whatever time you need after our meeting to make a decision that feels right.

Step Three — Secure Your Date

A $500 retainer and a signed agreement reserve your wedding date on our calendar. From there, you can split the remaining balance into scheduled payments leading up to your wedding or wait until two weeks after your wedding to pay in full. We're one of the only studios in Michigan that offers this, and it's intentional — you shouldn't be writing your biggest photography check in the final stressful weeks of wedding planning.

Step Four — Your Wedding Day

We show up early, stay late, and handle everything behind the scenes so you can just be present.

Step Five — Delivery

Within four to eight weeks, your gallery is ready — every image personally edited, color-corrected, and ready to print, share, or hang on your wall.

Engagement Sessions

Your engagement session is more than a photo shoot — it's the beginning of our working relationship.

Before your wedding day arrives, we spend two hours together at a location that means something to you. We learn how you move, what makes you laugh, and how you two are together when nobody's watching. By the time your wedding morning comes, we're not strangers with cameras — we're photographers who already know how to make you look extraordinary without it feeling like work.

Every couple has a different story. We shoot it that way.

Some couples want the energy of the city — the historic streets of Corktown, the murals and skyline of downtown Detroit, the architecture and character that makes Metro Detroit unlike anywhere else. Others want the warmth of golden hour in a garden, the rich colors of a Michigan fall forest, or the intimacy of our Canterbury Village studio. Some want all of it.

We've shot engagement sessions against the Detroit skyline, in the gardens of Oakland County estates, deep in Michigan's fall woodlands, and in our Canterbury Village studio for couples who want something more fine art and editorial. We also create double exposure composites and creative artistic portraits for couples who want something truly one of a kind.

Whatever your vision — bold and urban, warm and romantic, creative and unconventional — we'll build the session around your story, not ours.

You'll get comfortable in front of the camera before the most important day of your life. We'll learn your angles, your energy, and what makes you both light up — so on your wedding day, every photo feels effortless rather than posed. You'll also walk away with a completely different set of images to live with — different location, different outfits, different season. The photos you'll want framed in your home aren't always from your wedding day.

The best wedding photographs almost always happen in the thirty seconds before anyone realizes what's about to happen. A glance between a bride and her father in the doorway. A groom's hand steadying itself against a tree before the ceremony. A laugh that catches a bridesmaid by surprise. Our job is to notice those moments, position ourselves to catch them cleanly, and then get out of the way while they unfold.

We're Scott Weiner and Tyler Oxley, and we've been photographing weddings as MyPic Photography since 2008. Scott founded the studio with one camera and a simple belief: that wedding photography should be more than posed portraits and rushed timelines. Nearly two decades and hundreds of weddings later, we're still chasing those thirty-second moments — and our couples tell us you can feel it in the final images.

Our style leans timeless and cinematic: warm tones, careful light, black-and-white when the color is getting in the way of the feeling, and real moments over staged ones. We shoot both color and black-and-white in-camera and make the final call during editing, because sometimes an image is asking to be one or the other and our job as photographers is to listen. The goal every time is photographs that feel just as right a decade from now as they do the week you get them back.
